As one of the earliest schools of restoring management education after China's reform and opening up, the School of Management and Economics was formerly the Department of Management Engineering established in 1980. In 1998, it was renamed the School of Management and Economics. After 40 years of development, the school has passed three international certifications: AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA; no more than 1% of management schools holding three major international certifications worldwide.

Discipline Construction-The school currently has four undergraduate majors: information management and information system (including big data management track), accounting (intelligent finance track), international economy and trade (including digital finance track), and business administration.There are three first-level doctoral stations in management science and engineering, business management and applied economics, two interdisciplinary doctoral stations in energy and climate economy and national economic mobilization, and postdoctoral stations in management science and engineering and business management.Management Science and Engineering is a key discipline of Beijing and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It has entered the A-ranks in the fourth round of discipline evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and ranks in the top 2% in the "2019 Best Discipline ranking in China" of Soft Science.Business administration (enterprise management) is a key discipline in Beijing, and national economic mobilization is a national defense characteristic discipline of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.It has three primary disciplines in Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration and Applied Economy and four master programs (MBA, EMBA, Master of Engineering Management, Master of Accounting).
Scientific Research Strength-In the past five years, the school teachers has accumulated a scientific research fund of more than 167 million yuan, signed a total of 423 scientific research projects, and won more than 10 scientific research achievements awards from the Ministry of Education, the National Energy Administration and Beijing Municipality.In the past five years, the teachers of the school have published more than 500 papers in internationally renowned journals, many of which have been published in the main journals and sub-journals of NATURE, UTD-24, and FT-50 journals.In terms of discipline base, there are approved construction of "985 phase" national defense science and technology management and national philosophy and social science innovation research base, approved construction of energy economy and environmental management Beijing key laboratory, approved construction of Beijing economic and social sustainable development research base (the base selected as CTTI source think-tank and rated as Beijing excellent research base).In terms of team building, it has an important domestic and international influence in energy and environmental policy, technology monitoring, national economy mobilization, quality and reliability management, management decision-making and operational research research fields, etc. The energy and environmental policy research team was approved by the National Natural Science Foundation for Innovation Research Group; according to the global famous economic literature database RePEc / IDEAS data, the team ranked 10th in the world in November 2020.

Program introduction-Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2013, Beijing Institute of Technology and University of Reading held accounting undergraduate program. Included into the national general higher learning enrollment plan, students have Beijing Institute of Technology and Reading University dual status, enjoy the relevant rights and benefits of the two schools, and accept the relevant supervision of the two schools.Students who have completed all four years of major study and have passed the exams will receive the graduation certificate and the bachelor's degree diploma of Beijing Institute of Technology, and the bachelor's degree deploma from Reading University.The program is jointly operated by the School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology and the Henley Business School of Reading University. Program features
1. Carry out the training concept of "broad caliber, solid foundation and strong adaptability". In view of the needs of cultivating high-level international professionals, and establish three curriculum modules of basic courses, professional courses and practical ability training.
2. Pay attention to the cross-integration of professional curriculum design, the combination of teaching methods between Chinese and Western elements, the teaching content in line with international accounting standards and international practices, and cultivate students' international vision and international competitiveness.
3. The core professional courses are all taught in English textbooks and taught in English.Through all-English teaching, students can not only master the theoretical knowledge and skills of the accounting major, but also skillfully use English to express, communicate, and have good foreign language application ability and cross-cultural exchange ability.
4. Professional curriculum pays attention to broaden the depth of professional knowledge, and strengthen the practice link, emphasize the combination of theory and practice teaching mode, using embedded case teaching, classroom discussion, simulation enterprise accounting and other forms, cultivate students 'accounting practice ability and application ability, improve students' innovation ability and career competitiveness.

Enrollment Plan-The undergraduate major of Accounting of Beijing Institute of Technology (Sino-foreign cooperation) shall be included in the national unified enrollment plan.
Tuition fee-Domestic: RMB 56,000 yuan / academic year.Fee basis: The Bachelor of Accounting Cooperation Agreement signed between Reading University of Reading and Beijing Institute of Technology. Abroad: Students who study at Reading University in the third academic year pay tuition fees according to the international student standards of Reading University in that year.
